WINK WOULDN'T BE WINK IF WE DIDN'T BELIEVE IN THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PHILANTHROPY.
SO, WE INVEST IN OUR COMMUNITY.
We believe in the abundance theory, that an individual with a positive attitude and the right training can acquire personal abundance and make a difference in the lives of others.
We raise funds through outrageous fashion shows and artistic collaborations, we collect donations for many amazing local, charitable organizations in town, we even collect food and clothing for shelters. Thus far, we’ve teamed up with LEAF Outreach and LEAF International, MANNA Foodbank, American Cancer Society, Humane Society of Asheville, Green Opportunities, Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC, The Diabetes Center at Mission Health, and Steadfast House at Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry to raise money and awareness. Since we opened our doors in 2005, Wink has contributed over $30,000 in products, services and donations.
HUMBLE HAIRDRESSERS
This project came about through Wink's passion for the homeless in our community and discussions with like-minded friends and clients. Twice a month, every other Wednesday, Wink stylists set up shop at the Haywood Street Congregation to cut hair for the residents.
We galvanized our vendors and they showed up big time around this project. We received LOADS of donated products, cutting sheers, combs, etc., and we could not be more grateful.
Spending time, regularly, and getting to know others in the community has been an enormous gift to us and we love everyone we serve, in the salon or out.
